Welcome to the club nobody wanted to Join!
Listen Janet.
This is dark humor, real talk, and likely the stuff nobody else will say out loud.We might tell you to do a shot of vodka. Straight. We might tell you to put on your big kid pants and suck it up buttercup. We'll probably tell you a joke. (knock, knock...)We will absolutely swear like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in Goodwill Hunting. That's not a maybe - it's F*cking guarantee. Think sailor mouth with a trucker accent.Don't like it? Then this isn't for you. There are plenty of rainbows, unicorns, warm hugs and Dr. Phil wannabes on Amazon - we'll even send you there and take our cut as "influencers" (but only on stuff we find is like, you know, actually helpful!)What you need is what we need - a reset and a brain-break - straight to your inbox.

FROM THE WRONG SIDE OF THE TRACKS TO THE TRENCHES
Meet Shannan & Alexa (the OG)
We came from nothing. Poor, wrong side of the tracks nothing, told we wouldn't amount to anything. We watched our mom scrimp and save to put herself through school at 40 after a 1980s divorce, fighting a system rigged against her just to give us memories. When her Social Security couldn't cover real life, she moved in.Then came the medical plot twists: a stroke, an Alzheimer's diagnosis, and a toxic home dynamic where I was gaslit into thinking I was the problem. Alexa literally sold her house and moved in so we could link arms and protect Mom. We aren't here to make a mint. We’re here to make enough to take Mom on vacations and build memories while we still can, keeping our tools cheap so every caregiver can afford them.
Cognitive Psychology vs. The System
Our No-B.S. Caregiver Toolkit
We aren't just surviving this; we reverse-engineered it. Shannan is a PhD professor teaching Cognitive Psychology and Graduate Organizational Transformation. Alexa is an HR veteran who knows where corporate bureaucracy hides the bodies. We use brain science to lower your cognitive load, and HR reality to get you through FMLA.We use aggressive humor because cognitive psychology proves your brain cannot hold two emotional states at once. You cannot be paralyzed by panic when you are laughing. Let’s hijack the system together.
The JAS Collective
Choose Laughter
This space was built by two sisters who refuse to let the system crush them, and who refuse to let caregiving strip away the joy of making memories.Every tracker we sell, every link we share, and every tool we build is kept cheap for a reason: We aren't in this to make a mint.We are in this to buy our mom a few more vacations, make a few more memories while we still can, and hand you the exact psychological weapons and resources you need to survive this think called caregiving.

Meet Shannan & Alexa (The OG)

Shannan
(The Instigator)
The Quick Stats:
THE DAY JOB: PhD Professor teaching Cognitive Psychology & Organizational Transformation.
THE SIBLING DYNAMIC: The oldest. At 5'2", she's the one who is going to overthink the problem, build the strategy, and get them both into trouble. She brings up the rear, handing someone her drink for a minute while she tries to de-escalate crisis situations with sarcasm and dark humor.

Alexa
(The OG)
The Quick Stats:
DAY JOB: Veteran Human Resources Pro specializing in FMLA
THE SIBLING DYNAMIC: In her defense, she was left unsupervised. At 5'4", she’s the feeling one who throws the punches first and talks like a trucker with a sailor accent.
(Note: We call her the OG because you literally cannot say her real name without waking up every smart device in your house, yet she gets zero royalties from Jeff Bezos.)
From Latchkey Kids to Caregiver Trenches
We’ve been exactly like this since we were kids. We grew up poor -wrong side of the tracks kind of poor - where people openly told us we wouldn’t amount to anything. After divorce, we watched our dad work multiple jobs and our mom scrimp, save, and fight a rigged gender system to put herself through school at 40 years old. Both of them doing it just to give us opportunities.
Our dad passed a couple years ago and we have a lot of regrets on things we didn't do.
Our mom has always loved making memories and going on vacations. She saved and scrimped when we were kids to make that happen for us.
When her Social Security couldn’t cover real life after retirement, she moved in with Shannan. Then came the medical plot twists: a stroke, and a weird home dynamic where Shannan felt gaslit into thinking she was the problem. It took a therapist, a temporary relocation during a home renovation, communion with T-swifts song lyrics, and a neurologist to finally uncover the truth: It wasn’t Shannan. It was Mom - and an Alzheimer's diagnosis. The second the diagnosis hit, Alexa didn't hesitate - she sold her house and moved right in.We linked arms, combined our corporate and academic weapons, and rallied around Mom to keep her in her own space. If Shannan’s sarcasm and psychological de-escalation tactics don't work on the system, she's right there shoulder-to-shoulder, scrapping side-by-side with Alexa. We aren't here to lecture you from a pedestal or pretend we have it all figured out. We're just two self-made sisters using brain science, HR reality, and unapologetic humor to survive our own daily circus as we navigate medical mayhem, patient portal purgatory, and the sibling circus and hopefully fund a few more vacations and memories with our mom while we still can.
